Thousands of Olympique Marseille fans could arrive, expected for tomorrow’s Europa League semi-final, Thursday 9 May. In fact, 750 tickets were sold for visiting fans, essentially all those available. However, to them we must add those who will arrive without a ticket. For this reason, safety regulations and the deployment of law enforcement will be substantial in Bergamo.

Expected in the city

As reported The Echo of Bergamo, already today the presence of the police in the most at-risk places, from the station to Città Alta, has been increased. For now, however, we haven’t seen many French fans, thanks to the proximity of the city and the route which can easily be covered in one day. In fact, it is more likely that they will arrive by car or by bus organized directly tomorrow morning.

The anti-alcohol ordinance comes into effect

Meanwhile, in view of the event, the Municipality of Bergamo has renewed the usual anti-alcohol ordinance: from 9am on Thursday to 6am on Friday, in the areas between the stadium, the Piacenza Center and Città Alta, the serving of alcoholic beverages is prohibited above 5 degrees (with the exception of restaurants) and the takeaway sale of drinks in glass containers and cans.
