The table relating to the critical situation faced by the Navale Vittoria SpA shipyard and the possible prospects was held todayve for the Adria (RO) plant.

The meeting, called by the Region, was coordinatedinitiated by Giuliano Bascetta of the Veneto Lavoro corporate crisis unit and saw the participation of the regional Labor Directorate, the company and its consultants, Confindustria Veneto Est, the trade unions Fiom Cgil, Fim Cisl and Uilm Uil of Rovigo and of workers’ representatives.

During the meeting, the events that led to the current situation where the company is involved in the procedure for the presentation of an approved restructuring plan, a tool recently introduced by the new business crisis code, were recalled. The table shared the goal of rescue of the historic company from Adria (RO) and the skills of the 53 workers in charge of the company, engaged in a high-profile industrial reality. To support the procedure, extraordinary social safety nets were activated yesterday and today the agreement was signed between the company and the social partners for active regional policies that may be aimed at workers at risk of redundancy.

Prospects and challenges for the relaunch: looking for new investors and market opportunities.

Previous events – it emerged during the meeting – have seen an overall loss of competitiveness also due to exogenous factors such as the increase in the costs of raw materials and energy, but significant economic returns and promising prospects still exist with particular reference to smaller boats and orders. We look at these market horizons for the relaunch of the company which will necessarily have to see the entry of a new investor whose search continues unabated. Times are tight and the end of production activity is set for the end of July. Other difficulties – it has been highlighted – characterize this process and may reverberate on the orders being completed, however the company possesses important industrial skills, certifications and market spaces which have currently attracted the attention of two industrial entities who have signed with the company confidentiality agreements. The trade unions and Confindustria Veneto Est have expressed full willingness to support the relaunch process also through the search for further possible successors.

As requested by the Parties present, the Region, also through the Corporate Crisis Unit, will be committed to supporting and monitoring the process. The next meeting of the table is scheduled for June 11th.
