TRENT. “It’s necessary maximum attention not to do missteps with one unbalanced benefit in favor of private individuals compared to the most needy community”. It’s the one who says it secretary of Uil, Walter Alottiregarding the study of buildability of the Sequenza area in Trento Nord which was presented in recent hours to the environment and urban planning commission of the Municipality of Trento by the architect Bortolotti (HERE THE ARTICLE).

Uil enters the debate not by talking about the already much discussed architectural choices but by shift attention to the announcement of a possible provision of 200 apartments in those Towers through social housing. This last system allows moderate rent for families not rich enough to purchase a house – also given the increase in the cost of mortgages -, but not so poor for possible access to social housingin the now very few Itea or municipal accommodations still available.

“The unions and Uil in particular – explains Alotti – have been asking, since 2018, the activation of a new social housing plan in Trentinogiven the exhaustion of the Fund which produced just over 500 homes with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Cassa del Trentino and Finint, a request which only with the new councilor Marchiori finally seems to be within the will of the council”.

The hope of the union is that with the same actors and maybe with adding new investorsand with the coordination of the “new” provincial asset management company Euregio Plus, a new initiative for the benefit of the lower middle class can finally take off. The hope is that the Provincial Council will decide a new plan for moderately rented rental housing, immediately verifying the costs and times of the various hypotheses/proposals for a social housing agreement, taking into account first of all the possible multiple renovations of public and private buildings in a state of abandonment in the area.

It is fundamental, Walter Alotti always points out, that the municipal and provincial authorities and public opinion “be vigilant against the risk of seeing the start of construction and urban planning works in the neighboring area with pollution problems whose environmental clean-up costs have not yet been attributed and are of uncertain attribution. We would not like to see, as often happens, yet another damage to the public coffers and benefit of the profits to the usual ‘private’ suspects”.
