“A cultural rebirth returned to the city”

The 2023-2024 subscription theater season of the Teatro D’Annunzio, organized by the municipal administration of Latina and the Atcl, a multidisciplinary circuit of Lazio supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Lazio Region, has ended. It’s time to take stock, and the results are positive as stated by the mayor Matilde Celentano: “The first theater season after seven years of stopping has given the city a cultural rebirth that has been missing for some time”. The numbers are a positive sign : 162 subscriptions, 2051 tickets sold and 3347 total attendances. “A program that fascinated the public – continues the Mayor -, designed to involve a different target of people: from challenging prose to brilliant comedy, through the crime genre and the popular theatre”. Matilde Celentano speaks of a “successful gamble”, and recalls the commitment and effort of the Administration to find the resources necessary to “create an adequate subscription season, which the citizens were missing” His thanks also go to the Atcl, whose artistic director Isabella di Cola comments: “Reclaiming a theater is always a great emotion, a return to a place steeped in stories and memories that are the beating heart of a community. As Paolo Grassi argued, theater is a right and a duty for everyone, an essential element for the life of the city which in turn needs the vital energy of its citizens”. Di Cola and mayor Celentano also announce the surprises they don’t end: “We are already at work planning the next season, which promises to leave an even deeper mark on the cultural life of the city of Latina and in the hearts of its spectators”.
