After five years of abandonment of the right, the new Bandecchia right is in total continuity with its predecessors. Along the Valnerina state road, the stretch outside the town is managed by Anas, and in recent days the roadsides have been cleaned, albeit late after weeks and weeks of tall grass. In the stretch inside the town of Collestatte Piano, which by competence must be maintained by the Municipality of Terni, not even that.
JANUARY 2023: «COLLESTATTE ABANDONED BY THE MUNICIPALITY»
We are now on the eve of the second summer season of the new mayor’s administration, and the roadsides are in terrible conditions, with tall grass and plants whose stems are growing more and more after six years of neglect by the right, creating inconvenience for the residents, and making our city look bad towards tourists. For the Saturday of the long weekend of April 25th, when there was the maximum turnout of visitors to the waterfall, the cars were parked along the state road from Papigno to Torreorsina, or for four kilometres, and even on the access roads of the villages of Collestatte and Torre Orsina.

There are many inconveniences, queues, delays, even an ambulance with a patient stopped in traffic for endless minutes. All this added to the congestion that was created in Viale Brin, after the construction of the cycle path. Not even a shadow of the municipal police, since the administration has chosen to commit all the officers to the stadium, leaving the biggest tourist attraction, the Waterfall, unattended.
Despite this disaster, the Municipality has not carried out any intervention two weeks after those days of chaos. We hope that our continuous, umpteenth denunciation of this situation will give a leap of dignity to some councilor, who instead of warming his seat will decide to call some office to immediately clean up the roadsides of Collestatte Piano. It is a question of safety for residents, and of urban decorum also for the many visitors to the Marmore waterfall.
But what do you do with the money from the Cascade, if you don’t even use the millions of euros you get from the tickets to pay for cutting the grass along the main road in the tourist area? Change. You were really good at announcing it, and many believed you. But given the facts, with the two different right-wing parties in government, the city is doing much worse than before. And in the suburbs we pay the highest price.
