REGGIO EMILIA – Coopservice has undertaken a series of actions with the aim of spreading the culture of safety at work, and for the third consecutive year has proposed “Safety Week” on the occasion of World Health and Safety Day which falls on 28 April .
“Every time we learn of accidents at work, not least the serious events that occurred at the Enel power plant in Suviana and Casteldaccia, we are surrounded by an aura of sadness and a sense of helplessness, because we think about what could have been done to avoid them – he declared Silvia Di Croce, quality, safety and environment director of Coopservice – It is our task to develop awareness of the importance of safety at work so that for each of us it becomes a cornerstone of our lives, a priority and essential objective for us and for the people around us, our family, our friends, our colleagues.”
Various activities and events promoted by Coopservice during Safety Week, which involved workers and their families: the drawing competition “Safety around us!” was launched. with the aim of reflecting and making people reflect on how safety is fundamental and deeply connected to everyday life and family life. Play and competition were also the basis of the “Safety race”, a speed race aimed at all employees, via the Coopservice Community app, who challenged each other by testing their knowledge and skills on health and safety and on behaviors correct to adopt. The central moment of the events was the conference “Security that creates value” at the Cavallerizza Theater in Reggio Emiliawhich saw experts and technicians take turns on stage to talk not only about safety but also about sustainability, two topics relevant to the strategies of Coopservice, which is investing considerable resources in reducing accidents and reducing its environmental footprint.
During the conference, the construction sites that achieved the best performances in terms of safety at work, in terms of reduction in the number of accidents and complete fulfillment of training and health surveillance obligations, were awarded. Among the medium-sized construction sites, all with zero recorded accidents, the winners were the Internal Removal Service of the Gaslini Institute of Genoa; Cleaning service of the Municipality of Dueville, in the province of Vicenza; Pam Panorama Lombardia cleaning service; Cleaning service of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; Plant Maintenance Service of the Municipality of Impruneta, in the province of Florence; Construction works and systems at the Rummo hospital in Benevento; Trust services of the Territory, Energy and Environment of Mantua.
Among the large construction sites, all with zero accidents recorded, the winners were the Porterage and Removals Service of the Naples Local Health Authority; Global Service of the hospitals of Montebelluna and Castelfranco Veneto; Cleaning service of the Genova Brignole station; Energy Service of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia; Cleaning service of the University of Florence; Cleaning and sanitization service of the Asp of Vibo Valentia; Olbia airport security service.
