Treviso, workers at work to expand the aqueduct | Today Treviso | News

TREVISO – The synergy between Alto Trevigiano Servizi and the Municipal Administration of Treviso continues to create the new sewer system in the city: with an investment of almost 850 thousand euros, two construction sites will be active in the month of May. Work began on the expansion of the sewerage and aqueduct network in the Via Amalfi area in the first week of May, while work on the extension of the sewage system in Treviso will begin next week in Via S.Pelaio, from the intersection with Via Delle Verine to the north. The construction site in Via Amalfi marks a significant step forward in the strengthening and modernization of water infrastructure, aimed at guaranteeing an increasingly efficient and reliable service for residents. The main objective of the new ATS construction site is to create a network that guarantees the connection between the existing networks of Via Amalfi and Via Celsi, thus ensuring a continuous flow and reducing the “age of water” in the system.

At the same time as the laying of approximately 200 meters of new pipeline, the aqueduct network will be modernized and the existing connections will be replaced and moving meters off properties. Furthermore, the new project involves the laying of approximately 500 meters of sewerage network. A first step in a larger project, which will involve the entire area between Via Mandruzzato, Via S.Bona Vecchia and Viale della Repubblica, and will allow approximately 600 equivalent inhabitants to be connected to the centralized purifier of Sant’Antonino in Treviso. To minimize the impact on traffic and ensure safety during the works, the operations will be divided into phases, with subsequent road closures expected and pedestrian access guaranteed to residents, except in emergency cases. The restoration of normal traffic will take place as the construction site proceeds towards Via Celsi, with an estimated time of approximately 6 months to complete this first work step and proceed with the operations towards Via Mandruzzato. The construction site in Via S. Pelaio, which will last about a month, involves the laying of approximately 250 meters of sewer pipe with the related connections, and the bringing of existing aqueduct connections up to standard, with the consequent movement of the meter outside the property where not present. The laying of the sewerage network will allow approximately 100 equivalent inhabitants to be connected to the centralized purifier of Sant’Antonino di Treviso.

In construction site management ATS always tries to reduce the impact on traffic; also for the works along via S. Pelaio they will be divided into two phases and there will always be an alternating one-way system. During the first phase: – the stretch of Via delle Verine east of Via S.Pelaio (road that runs alongside the church) will be closed to traffic; – the western section instead (towards Via S.Bona Vecchia) will be one-way from Via S.Pelaio towards Via S.Bona Vecchia. – Those arriving from Via S.Bona Vecchia can follow the deviation along Via Chiereghin. While, during the second phase: the normal vehicular direction will be restored on both sides of Via Delle Verine and on Via S.Pelaio the alternating one-way system will remain. In particular, as the construction site continues towards Ponzano Veneto, the alternating one-way section will be moved northwards daily. With these interventions, ATS confirms its commitment to constantly improving the services offered to citizens, ensuring efficient and sustainable management of water and sewerage resources and wanting to contribute to the increasingly necessary environmental restoration. “With the ATS works, the City of Treviso takes another step forward towards environmental sustainability with the construction of the new sewerage network – declares the Councilor for Public Works of the City of Treviso Sandro Zampese – our Administration always works to improve and modernize services to our citizens.”
