POTENZA (ITALPRESS) – “The Single Zes represents a great opportunity for the entire South and, as I have had the opportunity to state in recent months, a historic result obtained by the central government”. This is what the president of the Basilicata Region, Vito Bardi, declared at the beginning, speaking this morning at the technical consultation table which was held in Potenza, in the Inguscio room of the institution, to follow up on the process for the drafting of the Strategic Plan of the Zes Unica . In addition to the representatives of the employers’ and social parties, the meeting was attended by the regional councilor Michele Casino, the general director of the Economic Development and Work department, Canio Alfieri Sabia, the head of the institution’s Zes facilitation measures, Giuseppina Lovecchio, and the representative of the Zes Cultura Raffaello De Ruggieri, who underlined the need to give centrality to the thinking industries linked to creativity, in line with the experience of Adriano Olivetti, announcing the idea of creating a ‘Garden Factory’ in Matera, in an area of six hectares in the La Martella village. “What is a priority to do, so that Basilicata and the entire South of Italy benefit from the Single Zes, is to create and strengthen technologies, equipment, services, tangible and intangible infrastructures, entrepreneurial and administrative fabrics.
In other words, we must create the ‘opportunities’ to create new networks, new connections and internal interdependencies. It is a commitment that we made at the end of the last legislature – added Bardi – and that we are about to carry forward having received the mandate from the Lucanian voters to continue our development projects”. President Bardi recalled that “in the bilateral meeting which took place in Rome on 30 April, the aims and contents of the Strategic Plan of the Zes Unica were illustrated, i.e. strengthening the competitiveness of existing production systems and defining a strategy to promote new investments useful for centering the positioning of the South in the national and European supply chains, within global value chains. The Regions were asked to send strategic planning documents that identify sectors and intervention priorities to be promoted and relaunched in the regional territory. We must therefore define together the process that leads to the drafting of a participatory and shared document that takes into account the regional programming lines, without talking about Ateco codes, but of production chains, which take into account the excellence of our region. It is a crucial moment for the history of Southern Italy and for Basilicata and for the history of its development. Finally – concluded the president – we have the tools to do it, national politics has created a synthesis with regional politics. Now it’s up to us to get to work to guarantee the future of our region”. During the meeting, engineer Lovecchio highlighted the urgency of indicating the sectors to be promoted and those to be strengthened within the Single Zes, as well as the interventions to attract new investments and ensure greater job opportunities in our region. “The timing for the activation of the strategic plan linked to the Single Zes, which affects eight regions, is very tight; therefore, in the coming weeks the Basilicata Region will have to communicate its peculiarities and priorities, which are already well represented in the regional strategy and in the Smart Specialization that accompanies the entire 2021-2027 programming”. – photo of the Basilicata Region press office – (ITALPRESS). vbo /com 08-May-24 14:54 .
