This morning, May 8, on the occasion of the celebrations of the Patron Saint of the City of Bari, San Nicola, the Fanfare of the Schools Command/3rd Air Region of the Air Force performed in Piazza Mercantile in a musical entertainment open to citizens.

The event was open to everyone: devotees, pilgrims and citizens who enjoyed a unique musical experience in one of the most evocative settings of the city, where hymns and military marches alternated with music by N. The Fanfare of the School Command of the Air Force/3rd Air Region, based in Bari, was established in 1984. Directed by the master 1st Lieutenant Nicola Cotugno, it is made up of 30 musicians, Sergeants and Graduates, appropriately selected from among the best graduates from conservatories of music. The primary task of the Fanfare is to participate, with the performance of hymns and marches, in the various ceremonies establishing the Armed Forces. The high artistic profile of its performances and the quality of the programs offered have placed this ensemble among the most representative of the panorama of Italian wind orchestras.
The Schools Command of the Air Force/3rd Air Region, based in Bari, is one of the three top commands of the Armed Forces. It ensures the selection, recruitment, military, cultural and professional training of Air Force personnel and flight training (at an international level), through the study and adoption of innovative teaching and training methodologies focused on the learner and informed by innovation, creativity, optimization of human and material resources, eco-sustainability, constant comparison with institutions and territory at the service of the community.
