The under-19 team of Decò Juvecaserta returns to the field this evening, Wednesday, to face the quintet of Avellino Academy Basket at the Pala Del Mauro in Avellino in the first round of the playoff semi-finals of the gold group.
Coach Dell’Imperio’s boys, still undefeated, got rid of Pallacanestro Cercola in the quarter-finals, beating Piccolo 74-29 (Donaddio, Merola 4, Iannotta, Ferraro 7, Vaccaro 11, Pagano 21, Palmieri, Pisapia 6, Pani 2, Viscardi 14, Petrella 2, Tartaro 3), while the Irpinia team easily got rid of Basket Napoli Academy (89-63). Next Tuesday at the Pala Piccolo (7.15 pm) the second and decisive match 2. The semi-final round, in fact, is divided into two matches with the team with the best basket difference advancing to the round, in the event of a victory each.
In the gold group of the second phase of the under17gold championship, the Juventus team finished in first place in the standings together with Monte di Procida. After the victorious recovery against Agropoli (75-49 with this scoreboard: Iannotta 14, Dell’Erba 12, Liguori 2, Riccio, Di Nuzzo, Krajewski 10, Sassone 11, Celiento 2, Pietroluongo 9, Coppola 2, Tescione 14) , the Bianconeri – unbeaten in this second phase – prevailed on the Hippy Salerno court 69-65 (Iannotta 10, Liguoro, Dell’Erba 10, Liguori 1, Riccio 12, Di Nuzzo 11, Krajewski 2, Sassone 3, Celiento , Pietroluongo 2, Coppola 4, Tescione 14), after often having also had double-digit advantages. Coach Nicola Liguori’s Decò Juvecaserta 2021 will now return to the field for the quarter-finals of the playoffs which will start on May 19th.
In the silver group, coach Fabio Mezzullo’s quintet concluded its competitive season with a third place in the blue group of the Campania Cup, while in the under15 coach Piantadosi’s bianconeri gave way (58-59) to S. Agnese, finishing thus with being joined at the top by their direct opponents who took first place thanks to the advantage of direct comparison. From Wednesday 8 May the playoff quarter-finals with Decò Juvecaserta 2021 which will host the Fuorigrotta Game time at the Pala Piccolo. The return is set for Sunday 12 May in Naples.
With the large victory over Solofra 95-25 (Magliulo 2, Giudice 10, Romitelli 13, Zagaria 18, Galbiati 2, Fusco 9, Iodice 10, Simone 2, D’Addio, Luise 18, Rosi 4, Vitale 7), the the under-14 team has further consolidated first place in the red group of the Campania Cup and is now awaiting the last match of the second phase with Acsi 90 Avellino, which it will host on Friday at the Pala Piccolo.
The Juventus team finished in third place in the second phase of the under-13 gold championship, thus gaining access to the final four scheduled for May 18th and 19th. Coach Fabio Mezzullo’s Bianconeri will face Uniobasket Maddaloni in the semi-final. For the propaganda championship, however, Mario Vitalone’s under-13 team tries in these last two matches of the second phase to catch up with the current leaders Angel Marcianise, who currently has a two-point lead and who will be a guest of the Caserta team on the last scheduled day next Monday at the Pala Piccolo. The priority, however, is the result of this evening’s important away match on the Caudium Airola pitch, where the Bianconeri will try to confirm the good things they showed in the previous match against Aragona S.
