As part of the DePortibus festival, from 9 to 31 May the Ligurian capital pays homage to the doyen of La Spezia photography
“Each image brings with it a taste of irony, thanks to which the author projects the protagonists from the sea line along an imaginary thread. Almost as if they were everyday tightrope walkers, from whom one expects to see them fall sooner or later. But from which, thanks to the expressiveness of the images, they never fall”. With these words the curator Paolo Asti presents the exhibition “Beyond the horizon” by Cesare Salvadeoof scene a Spice from 9 to 31 May. It is the fascinating space of the Passeggiata Morin that hosts the works of the doyen of La Spezia photography, as part of the DePortibus festival.
“Shots that tell the story of daily life on the horizon of our seaside city”, adds the curator. “With irony and mastery, Salvadeo captures unique moments, inviting us to reflect on the reality that surrounds us. An exciting journey between visual dissonances and hidden harmonies, which pushes us to look further, towards new horizons”. An event made even more meaningful by the fact that the spaces hosting the exhibition are the same – together with the Molo Italia – protagonists of almost all of Salvadeo’s photographs.
