An episode of courage and a request for greater security shook the community of Sassari yesterday evening shortly after 10pm. Alessandra Ledda, 38 years old, originally from Terralba, was the protagonist of an attempted robbery in Pietro Paolo Manis’ tobacco shop, located in Corso Trinity. A masked and armed criminal entered the shop demanding the daily takings. With great coolness, Mrs. Ledda managed to react: she approached the attacker and, after hitting him with an iron object, she forced him to escape. Immediately afterwards, she alerted the police who promptly intervened on the spot. “I reacted instinctively, knowing I had taken a risk.

I didn’t know if the gun was real or a replica, but the most important thing for me was being able to hug my son again,” said Alessandra, who was having her first experience with a robbery. Despite having acted with determination, the woman underlines do not advise anyone to replicate her gesture, given the uncertainty of the possible consequences, Alessandra launched an appeal for a strengthening of controls and security in the area, highlighting the need to prevent situations that could push the citizens having to defend themselves. This episode has reignited the debate on public safety in Sassari, with the local community now calling for more effective measures to guarantee the tranquility and protection of its inhabitants.
