Training event on May 10th
AST Ancona’s prevention initiatives continue.
The Territorial Health Authority continues its commitment to combating smoking to improve the results achieved and to address this issue at both a preventive and clinical level. In this regard, a training event has been organized to be held in Ancona Friday 10 May 2024 from 9.00 to 18.30 at Palazzo Li Madou of the Marche Region. Therefore, the regional training of health workers on smoking begins with this first meeting.
The regional training course is entitled: “Light up a passion, not a cigarette – Actions to combat and treat smoking through networking of health workers” and is part of the strategies promoted by the Regional Prevention Plan 2020-2025 such as the integration between different components of the Health System, the search for sustainable interventions and recommended, intersectorial, training and communication. In particular, the initiative aims to encourage the strengthening of skills and the development of procedures of the network of operators for the prevention of smoking and the integrated management of smokers.
The day’s program includes a series of speeches by industry experts in the morning (new styles of consumption, addiction and abstinence, de-addiction paths, prevention and treatment during birth), while in the afternoon two thematic sessions will alternate (mindfulness and nutrition/physical activity).
Smoking is one of the main risk factors due to the onset of numerous chronic-degenerative diseases, mainly affecting the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. We would also like to remind you that the “World No Tobacco Day” was established on May 31st in relation to this addiction.
