Marsala, conference on climate change organized by the Rotary Club

On Sunday 5 May, at the Circolo Lilibeo, the Rotary Club Marsala, in collaboration with the Order of Agronomists and other associations, organized an interesting conference entitled “Climate Change: a threat to future generations”.

The meeting, moderated by Rino Bonomo, addressed a highly topical issue of fundamental importance for the future of the planet. The speakers, the agronomist Antonella Ingianni and the lawyer Diego Maggio, offered the public a complete overview of the causes and consequences of climate change, as well as the possible solutions to be adopted to combat this global phenomenon.

In her report, Dr. Ingianni clearly and competently illustrated the causes of climate change, based on updated scientific data. You also proposed several strategies to mitigate the effects of this phenomenon on planet Earth.

Lawyer Maggio, however, focused his speech on Italian failures in environmental matters. With his usual verve and passion, he highlighted our country’s shortcomings in the application of community directives and in the sanctions regime.

At the end of the reports, a lively debate began among those present, who expressed great concern about the issues raised and the need for a concrete commitment on the part of institutions and citizens. In particular, some participants proposed creating working groups to translate ideas into concrete actions and actively contribute to the fight against climate change.
