VENICE – In 2020 the ancient trattoria at Vignole has ceased operations, leaving behind an echo of memories. However, today, that same magic that has enchanted generations of Venetians and beyond, rises again in an ambitious project. IsolaLeVignole was born from the desire of four Venetians and a Friulian entrepreneur: Antonio Vianelloowner of the former historic trattoria in Vignole; Carlo Zangrandor, agricultural entrepreneur and also resident on the island; Roberto Boemowner of Destination Venice in Venice; Marco Percoco-owner of the Roncús winery in Friuli Venezia Giulia and, Francesco GhisiniVenetian lawyer from the law firm of the same name in Mestre.
«When I came here for the first time – explains Marco Perco – I discovered an area with a unique and priceless charm. I was fascinated by the mineral and salty flavor of the local vegetables, immediately understanding that the wine could also have a unique flavor, preserving and transmitting within itself the soul of the Venetian lagoon.” Marco Perco comes into contact with Roberto Boem and it is the latter who creates the synergy with Antonio Vianello and Carlo Zangrando. The objective was clear from the beginning: to enhance the island while respecting its history and its community to share its beauty.
In the two-hectare land that extends next to the former trattoria, a new scenario will take shape to accommodate the Dorona grape vine which will be the backdrop for events, ceremonies, enriched by guided visits to the organic gardens and wine tastings
The first plantings were carried out with care, while the opening of the spaces marks a fundamental step in sharing the soul and beauty of the island. «The wine tastings and events organized at Vignole – adds Roberto Boem – offer a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the lagoon and learn about the identity and history of the little-known island». For Antonio Vianello, the vineyard and the new identity of the historic venue, owned by his family for three generations, represents an exciting turning point, offering him the precious opportunity to reinvent his love for his land and its typical characteristics. Carlo Zangrando, the true custodian of the land, will have the task of guiding people to discover the organic vegetable gardens, engaged in the cultivation of four hectares of land, he dedicates himself to the production of mixed vegetables and fruit, with particular attention to typical products . «It is an important opportunity for the development of a project that goes beyond the simple production of wine», explains lawyer Ghisini.
