the highest reaches 78 metres

Six towers, six Dolomite spiers. «We were inspired by the mountains, in particular by the Campanile Basso». Thus the Trentino architect and urban planner Roberto Bortolotti, supported by professionals from the «Spread out» studio in Milan, presented the Podini family’s project in the Sequenza area, near the polluted former Sloi site, in northern Trento. Yesterday the rendering of the new neighborhood landed in the council commission for urban planning of the Municipality of Trento. «55% of the surface will be for residential use – added Bortolotti during the session – We are ready to relaunch a possible social housing plan for the Province». The idea is to create up to 200 apartments (minimum 170) for the so-called gray band of the population, that is, for those families not poor enough for public housing and not wealthy enough for the free market. Two of the six buildings, however, will be for hotels and offices, the tallest of which is 78 metres, almost double the towers of Madonna Bianca. We are already thinking about the materials: «Stone and metal». Furthermore there will be two commercial structures, the largest will host the Md supermarket, a discount store owned by the same Podini group. Finally, a transit station with a square is planned.
