It is one of the fixed events of the summer, generally located close to the Pink Night, the “New Year” of the Romagna Riviera: “Al Meni”, the renamed “circus of flavors”, created by the starred chef (over and over again) Massimo Bottura.

Well, this year we have to wait a little longer, the event has in fact been postponed to September or alternatively October. Or, in the worst case scenario, we’ll talk about it in 2025. We’ll see.

The “big events”

In these weeks of tourist promotion, the tent usually set up in Piazzale Fellini has never been mentioned, because evidently there is an ongoing discussion dedicated precisely to “Al Meni” which due to a sort of excess of events, starting from the arrival in Rimini of the Tour de France, requires a broader reasoning.

In summary: chefs could slip away from their “native” seafront to find a home in the historic center.

Also a way to offer opportunities for fun and extend the season.

At this stage they are doing the “calculations” and a final decision will be made as soon as possible.

Otherwise, “Al Meni” takes a break as in the times of the pandemic, skips a year (2024) and makes an appointment for the next editions.

“See you in September”

“Al Meni” moves. Cause “Tour de France” and a calendar of other events (Pink Night, Dance) which from June to early July sees Rimini practically “overbooked” by large events precisely in the weeks that since 2014 had seen the culinary event taking place which has as its testimonial Massimo Bottura.

Therefore the hypothesis on which the Municipality and the organizers are working is to move “Al Meni” towards the end of summer (or beginning of autumn), a period which, also thanks to climate change, has seen an extension of the tourist season in recent years, with consequent search for high-level events in traditionally more “unloaded” periods.

If dates, costs and availability converge, “Al Meni” will therefore leave June to plan at the end of September (or beginning of October), probably also changing location: historic center rather than seafront.

“Let’s take a break”

If, however, the hypothesis were not viable, “Al Meni” would observe a pause in 2024 to be “reconfigured” and updated for subsequent editions. In fact, even before the pandemic, the format had shown some signs of tiredness compared to the very first editions and in recent years the organizers had tried to bring innovations in this sense. The shift to could be one of these early innovations that are being sought.
