“Checks from clan affiliates on the entrepreneur’s accounts”

Negotiated checks of people with criminal records that flowed into the personal bank accounts of the Sagliocchi family. This is what emerged in the trial on the infiltration of the Casalesi clan, in particular of the boss Michele Zagaria, in the car park in Via San Carlo in Caserta.

The lieutenant of the Guardia di Finanza of Rome, who conducted the investigations, heard before the first section of the court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, presided over by judge Sergio Enea with Giuseppe Zullo and Norma Cardullo on the side, revealed the background of the investigation coordinated by Dda Neapolitan, in particular the bank checks carried out on the current accounts of the Sagliocchi family unit.

“We have considered the statements of Francesco Zagaria (justice collaborator) regarding the negotiation of bank cheques. In practice, members of the Casalesi clan gave Sagliocchi checks which he then transferred to his bank account. From the Sagliocchi personal current account the huge financial resources flowed into the current accounts of his children and wife. The credit installments ranged from 500 euros to 15,000 euros. The subjects who paid were close to clans, not only that of the Casalesi but also the Mazzarella clan. The legal precedents that these people had were for criminal offences, crimes against property and crimes relating to drugs”.
