Perhaps Palermo has found its attacking duo. Perhaps, because surprises are always around the corner and the certainty of certain choices is never so obvious, especially when dealing with a team that from this point of view has seen changes in tactics and players practically from week to week. week. However, given how things went against Ascoli and the affinity demonstrated over the 83 minutes played together, Brunori and Soleri could be the attacking partners designated to guide Palermo to the conquest of sixth place which could then lead to the dream of promotion to Serie A.

That of Brunori and Soleri, the two players in the Rosanero attack department with the most appearances in the squad, is a couple that could easily be defined as… unprecedented. In fact, before the matches against Spezia and Ascoli, the number 9 and the number 27 had never teamed up from the first minute. The first time this season was at Picco and it didn’t go very well, the second was on Sunday and the two attackers clocked in at the same time. Before Mignani’s arrival, in fact, Palermo played with a 3-man attack and therefore did not involve the use of two first strikers like Brunori and Soleri, except in emergency situations. Corini, in fact, used the number 27 only and exclusively to replace the Rosanero captain or, in an emergency, to support him in the last minutes of the game in search of useful goals to resume a match that perhaps had gone badly or that needed of greater weight in attack. Since Mignani arrived, however, with the launch of the 3-5-2, the chances for Palermo’s attackers have certainly grown.

Mancuso was the first to enjoy this change of form. The number 7, in fact, was immediately the chosen one to help Brunori pierce the opposing defenses and increase Palermo’s scoring percentages. Which, in reality, was also achieved by the Palermo striker, who in his first match as a starter paired with Brunori had scored for the momentary goal of the lead against Sampdoria. Then, another match as a starter, against Cosenza and another good performance for Mancuso, capable of making himself dangerous already in the first half with a left-footed shot that hit the bottom of the crossbar. Afterwards, some sterile initiatives in the next two matches, against Parma and Reggiana, which brought no luck either to Palermo or even to Mancuso, who was forced to make way for Soleri already during the away game at La Spezia.
