“Free bands. From free radios to private radios”, the epic of radio is told in Bisceglie – BisceglieLive.it

Wednesday 8 May at 6.30 pm the Abbraccio alla vita bookshop (via XXIV Maggio, 44, Bisceglie) hosts the presentation of the book “Bande libera. From free radios to private radios”, written by Vincenzo Abbatantuono, Emanuele Saponiere, Tommaso Padolecchia, published by SECOP editions.

The book tells the story of radios, of the cultural ferment of the 70s, the context in which they developed, took hold, gave voice to many and many and reached the peak of ratings.

Specifically, the text focuses on the city of Bitonto, where the radio was used, as well as to spread ideas and contents in a short time and above all for as many people as possible, to escape from addictions, to be connected with a world that was starting to be global, to feel less distant from large population centers.

In fact, the three authors, the main characters of the book, describe the world of radio in those years from their own point of view. It is first of all their story, how they experienced the 70s and the years that followed, what the atmosphere was like and what dreams they had.

Above all, they tell us what the radio they hosted was like, what was lost and what still remains of that world.

The presentation will not only be in dialogue, but will make use of audio and video tools to fully immerse us in the world of radio, to introduce us to the pioneers of free radio in our area.

Tommaso Amato, an expert in the world of entertainment, will moderate the meeting.

Free entry.
