We have proposed a range of solutions to protect female workers, but they have never been taken into consideration.”
In the meantime “we asked for a certain date for the start of the renovation works on the canteen at the prison in Livorno – denounce Sagretti and Bardi – but only a few days ago the news arrived that they will not start before July. This is unacceptable. This is a public contract, which should therefore be synonymous with certainty for the contractor, for the provider of the services, but above all for the workers who, we remember, are linked as a priority to the contract regardless of the company that wins the contract. contract.
How is it possible to award a contract of this type without giving the possibility to carry out the service? We will ask for a meeting with the Regional Directorate of Penitentiary Administration.” We remember that during the last visit to the Le Sughere Prison, the Undersecretary for Justice Andrea Delmastro announced last April 24th “the imminent distribution of meal vouchers reserved for penitentiary police personnel due to the impracticability of the canteen which is currently unusable, which will have to be sorted out.”
The news that the works will begin at the end of the summer was a cold shower for everyone. Finally, the sole director of Klas Service Srl Antonio Esposto states: “We only learned of the unusability of the kitchen after the assignment of the service on 1 January 2024”.
