The “Prontobus” service has also been confirmed for the whole of 2024: the Council has in fact approved its continuation, approving a loan of 108 thousand euros for the part paid for by itself.
The approved figure corresponds to the “enhanced service”, i.e. the formula that provides two minibuses both in the morning and in the afternoon, “considered to be the proposal capable of best responding to the needs of users”.
“Prontobus” is an on-call service born in 2005: managed by AMo, the Modena Mobility Agency, which then entrusted it to Seta, it was introduced with the aim of providing a connection between the hamlets and the city centre; it was the subject of experiments and variations, while confirming the validity of the inspiring concept, with a remodulation at the end of 2013.
The user, by calling number 840001100 (“Prontobus” switchboard) on weekdays, can book a trip to be organized at one of the hundred collection points present in the municipal area, and characterized by the service logo and an identification number. The buses used are small in size (about seven meters) and have a capacity of 19 passengers: from the end of 2021 they are all equipped with a mechanical platform for access by people with motor disabilities.
