The regional department of local authorities invites municipalities, free consortia and metropolitan cities of Sicily that are in default to approve the 2024-2026 budget estimates. If the green light has already arrived, the invitation is to verify the outcome of the document transmission procedure by consulting the list available on the Region’s institutional website.
Based on data updated to May 6, the financial planning document was approved by 143 administrations, or 35 percent of the total. After having granted an extension in recent weeks to comply with legal obligations, the department announces that the procedure for appointing commissioners is already at a very advanced stage and the replacement intervention by the Region is imminent. The budget estimate, i.e. the instrument through which the body plans the activities and services to be offered to citizens over the three-year period, is an essential condition in order to be able to authorize expenditure.
