MACERATA – Again violence on the street in Macerata. The alarm went off at 5.30pm yesterday, when between Viale Trieste and the gardens of Via Isonzo around seven or eight people, mostly of non-EU origin, fought each other with kicks and punches. The police officers intervened immediately on the spot, attracted by the shouts local police, whose offices are located near the place where the brawl occurred. As soon as we saw the arrival of the men in uniform, there was a stampede. Some of the contestants disappeared in a black car while three people, of African origin, were blocked. In the meantime, the local police asked for reinforcements and the police officers and the carabinieri of the local company also went into action.

The tension

A 25-year-old Gambian man stopped on the spot by the local police (there were moments of tension) had suffered injuries during the brawl (he had been punched) and had to be transported to the emergency room in an 118 ambulance. He had objects on him capable of offending but according to what emerged from the initial investigations, the people involved in the violent episode faced each other with their bare hands.

In the meantime, the search for the other foreigners who participated in the brawl has begun. A young man, with a swollen face, was found in via Morbiducci (he was also taken to hospital for treatment, he is a 25-year-old Pakistani). As if the situation of great chaos wasn’t enough, the police forces in the hospital found themselves facing another emergency, not linked to the brawl in Viale Trieste. A patient who wanted to be hospitalized had thrown a fit of rage outside the health facility, damaging some road signs. Returning to the brawl, last night the search for the black car was still underway. An episode that rekindles the security alarm after the fights that in recent months had involved groups of Egyptians.
