LAUNCH. The house and garages were released from seizure Milena Santirocco, the 53-year-old fitness and dance teacher from Lanciano who reappeared on Saturday evening in a bar in Castel Volturno (Caserta), six days after her disappearance from Torino di Sangro. Yesterday afternoon the seals were removed from the apartment in via Genova and from the garages in via Panoramica, in the Olmo di Riccio district, where the woman, separated and mother of two twenty-year-old boys, lived with her younger son Denis before this whole affair.
In recent days, while the frantic search for the 53-year-old continued on the Chieti coast, the Vasto Prosecutor’s Office had opened a case for kidnapping, a “technical” crime hypothesis to allow the police to start specific investigations to unravel the mystery of the teacher’s disappearance of dance. But, as anticipated yesterday by Center, in this story there is no kidnapping or hooded kidnappers, as the woman herself had said in the first place. Milena’s story, the one that the woman told to prosecutors and investigators who listened to her for hours on Sunday morning, is instead that of a profound discomfort, which has its roots in a difficult family and economic situation, made even more hard by fears for the future. A future that she saw as increasingly dark, so much so that it led her to voluntarily move away from home and from her loved ones and to try to end it. An aim, fortunately, which did not succeed.
At that point, wet and cold, the 53-year-old decided to reveal herself and ask for help in a bar in Castel Volturno. The municipality in the province of Caserta is located about 180 kilometers from where Milena Santirocco left her Renault Clio parked on Sunday 28 April. After the photos taken in Turin di Sangro and posted on the Whatsapp status, Milena, wearing sportswear and a dark jacket, wandered on foot to Campomarino (Campobasso), and then found a ride by car to Campania. In these six days she would have made do by “begging” for fruit and bread when shops closed and sleeping in public parks and on the beach. Until the lowest point of her escape, when she attempted the insane gesture by throwing herself into the waters of the Foce del Volturno nature reserve.
But this was not supposed to be the ending for Milena. At around 9pm on Saturday 4 May, the woman entered the Nacca bar in Castel Volturno to ask for help. Half an hour later she is reached by police personnel from Lanciano and Chieti, who have been in the Caserta area following her trail for two days. The first hypothesis of the kidnapping, the medical visits in the hospital and then at night the return to Lanciano, where the following morning in front of prosecutors and investigators, Milena collapses and tells the truth.
The dance teacher is currently hosted at her mother’s house in the Torre Sansone district, where the “Paso Melodia” sports association of which she is the owner is also based. The national television stations, which continue to cover her case, guard her entrance. The police personnel showed up here yesterday afternoon to serve her with some documents since the woman, besieged by the cameras, cannot get out of her. From the moment Milena, her children and her sister were found Sonia they entrenched themselves in silence. There will be a need for time and peace to find each other again.
