Doctors Without Borders stops at the Gom in Reggio Calabria

The Great Metropolitan Hospital “Bianchi – Melacrino – Morelli” of Reggio Calabria hosts the operators of Doctors Without Bordersand on the occasion of the awareness campaign launched by the independent medical-humanitarian organization which, for over 50 years, has provided humanitarian aid to populations whose survival is threatened from wars, epidemics, malnutrition or natural disasters, not only in Italy, but in over 70 countries around the world.

There awareness campaignwhich takes place at the main entrance of the “Riuniti” garrison, aims precisely to raise awareness of the association’s initiativesthrough the presence of a delegation of MSF collaborators.

Founded in 1971 thanks to the commitment of a group of French doctors and journalists, Doctors Without Borders guarantees medical aid wherever it is neededensuring its presence in the heart of conflicts, epidemics and natural disasters.

In 1999 Doctors Without Borders was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of the “pioneering humanitarian work carried out on various continents”.
