Patronal celebrations
With regards to the proposals offered for the patronal festivals, tradition dictates that the individual parish committees then establish the financial coverage and the choice of artists
With the beginning of May, and after the approval of the “procrastinated” budget in April, the municipal administration also begins to outline the first summer expenses.
26,982.40 euros have been allocated by the Mascaro council for the setting up of illuminations on the occasion of the religious festivals of San Francesco (former Municipality of Sambiase, from 22 May to 2 June), Sant’Antonio (former Municipality of Nicastro from 07 June to 30 June ), SS. Pietro e Paolo (former Municipality of Nicastro – from 26 June to 30 June) and S. Francesco (former Municipality of S. Eufemia – from 7 July to 14 July).
For the program of events called “Summer in 4D in Lamezia: Of Art, Of Music, Of Faith, Of Sun” the Institution’s contribution will be 32,984 euros, through the technical set-up (rental of stage with roof, barriers, generator ):
- in Piazza 5 December (31 May/1 June) in honor of the celebrations for San Francesco da Paola;
- on Corso Numistrano (12/13/June) in honor of the celebrations for Sant’Antonio da Padova;
- on Corso Numistrano for the third edition of the “Lamezia in Festa_Città di Gusto” event (SS. Pietro e Paolo on 28/29 or 27/28 June);
- in Sant’Eufemia Lamezia (6/7 July or 13/14 July) on the occasion of the celebrations of the Patron Saint of Calabria, San Francesco da Paola;
- for the return of the Lamezia Terme summer Carnival on the Falcone and Borsellino seafront (around 8 August);
- the creation of a fireworks display in the former municipality of Nicastro in honor of the celebrations for the patron saints of the city, the SS. Peter and Paul (June 29).
