“How is your husband?“. These would have been the words that Marco Manfrinati, the Varese killer, would have pronounced in a mocking tone, addressing his ex-mother-in-law, while he was arrested. The 40-year-old, who is now in prison on charges of murder and serious injury, was already on trial for stalking. Furthermore, the Varese investigating judge had imposed a ban on him from approaching her ex-wife, Lavinia Limido, and her parents. The 37-year-old, slashed in the face with a knife, is not in danger of life but her injuries could be permanent.
Lavinia’s mother: “He tormented us”
A tragedy that, perhaps, could have been avoided. She is convinced of it Marta Crisciuolo, mother of the 37-year-old and wife of Fabio Limido, stabbed to death by Manfrinati. A harsh but inevitable outburst from the woman to the local news cameras: “There is a psychiatrist’s expert opinion who says Mafrinati was not dangerous, that he was socially well placed. But he had been tormenting us for a year, he needed to be arrested“. There are some complaints against the 40-year-old, including one for which the Busto Arsizio prosecutor has asked for it to be dismissed.”He slashed the tires of our car, smashed the rear window and damaged the gate of the house. – says Lavinia’s mother – My daughter saved her life and that of her son when she ran away last July 2nd“. Then he recalls the hell they experienced: “We had to hide Lavinia outside the province, she wore a wig when she went out“. And finally, about the husband: “Yesterday he intervened to defend our daughter, as he always has“.
The lawyer of the Limido family: “He should have been arrested a year ago”
According to what has emerged in these hours, a year ago, the Varese Prosecutor’s Office had requested thearrest of Manfrinati but the request was rejected. “He should have been arrested a year ago, the Prosecutor’s Office asked for it“, confirms the lawyer who assists the Limido family, the lawyer Fabio Ambrosetti. The defender of the 40-year-old, however, speaks of a pending proceeding against Lavinia Limido for child abduction and another CTU, also within the case civil separation.”It was agreed that my client could see his son, in the presence of his paternal grandparents, every two weeks – explains the lawyer Fabrizio Busignani to Il Giorno – There was no way to hold these meetings.
