Wednesday in Massa Giro d’Italia and E-Bike Experience: watch out for bans and traffic changes

MASSA – There are two international cycling races that will involve Massa: not only the fifth stage of the “107 Giro d’Italia” Genoa – Lucca, which will involve the Statale Aurelia, but also the Giro d’Italia E-bike experience, called E-Giro which will take place within the city centre. As regards traffic: we remind you of the ban on transit from 3pm today Tuesday 7th May to 5.30pm Wednesday 8th in Piazza Aranci (the day before the event they will in fact have to set up the Green Fun Village); from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Wednesday in Largo Matteotti and in via Eugenio Chiesa. And then from 12.30pm to 2.00pm on Wednesday along the route from Piazza Aranci to Piazza Martana, via Guidoni and via Alberica. In particular, the following will be closed on Wednesday: via Aurelia Ovest, viale Puccini, piazza Liberazione, viale Democracy, viale Risorgimento, via Aurelia Sud and all the roads that converge there, will be closed to transit for all vehicles in general, with the exception of of those relating to the cycling caravan, of the emergency vehicles and of the police vehicles, at least two and a half hours before the transit of the race and until the conclusion of the passage of the cyclists.

Viale E. Chiesa (descending/ascending section above the Poste roundabout), Largo Matteotti and Piazza Palma, will be affected by the transit ban for all vehicles in general, with the exception of those relating to the cycling caravan, emergency vehicles and vehicles of the Police Force, approximately from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm and in any case until the end of the Giro E event. Furthermore, via F. Betti, via Cavour (section Piazza Palma – via F. Betti), via Alberica, piazza Bastione, Piazza Martana, via Beatrice, piazza Mercurio, via Guidoni, via Cairoli, piazza Guglielmi and via Dante will be affected by the passage of the pedal-assisted cycles of the Giro E and, therefore, these streets will also be subject to the establishment of a temporary ban on transit.

The parking ban will instead be: from 3pm on Tuesday 7th to 5.30pm on Wednesday 8th in Piazza Aranci and from 5am to 5.30pm on Wednesday 8th in the car park via Turati, Piazza Palma, Piazza Matteotti, Piazza del Teatro and via Church and the first floor of the underground car park in via Bastione. Also in Massa, with a union order, the schools are closed early to 12:00 as well as, with a management order, the suspension of road traffic: decisions taken on a precautionary basis respectively to protect public safety and security in anticipation of the passage of the Tour of ‘Italy and, in the case of Massa, also of the start of the Giro E-bike experience, on Wednesday.
