The Cinema Eden in Arezzo returns to open its doors to the little ones and their families with a new appointment with the “cittini” festival. On Saturday 11 May, starting at 5pm, Paolo Berger’s film “My Friend Robot” based on the graphic novel of the same name by Sara Varon will be screened in the historic Arezzo hall. The film, the Spanish director’s first animated feature film, was nominated for an Oscar as best animated film. Single entry €5. Organized by Officine della Cultura. New York, 80s, September. Dog, an anthropomorphic dog, lives a solitary existence, made up of television and pre-packaged foods. During a melancholy evening, he consults some robot models to buy and orders one by mail order. When Robot is delivered to his home, an intense friendship is born between him and Dog: the two travel far and wide in Manhattan, sharing intoxicating experiences. After a day spent on the beach, Robot freezes and can’t get up again: Dog looks for a solution, but when he returns he finds the establishment closed until the following season. Forced to remain separated from each other for many months, Dog and Robot will end up finding alternative solutions to their respective loneliness. Further information: www.officinedellacultura.org.
