It is for these reasons that Fillea CGIL has asked the Government in recent days to intervene immediately, also implementing structural measures, to prevent the many injuries and illnesses associated with the heat risk and among other things the adoption of standards for the recognition, by the Contracting Authorities, of any delays in the delivery of the works, in the event of interruption due to extreme climatic events”.

«It is also clear that the health of workers cannot wait for the times of national politics. The initiative of the Municipality of Taranto through the union ordinance n. 25 of 07/28/2023 went in the direction we hoped for protection and safeguarding of workers’ health, using the risk map prepared by Inail and recognized as a very important public health result by the Worklimate Project (Inail-Cnr). We therefore ask you – the letter concludes – to adopt a similar measure again for the Municipality of Taranto and to raise awareness, in his capacity as President of the Province, of all the Mayors of the Municipalities of our territory so that they intervene to protect the health of workers exposed to high temperatures”.
