“From reading your newspaper I learn that a trade association (Coldiretti, specifically) has invited three candidates for mayor for Sanremo. The main ones, citing the article in question”.
These are the words of Erika Martini, candidate for mayor of Sanremo with the ‘Independence’ list, commenting on a press release from the trade association. “The concept of ‘principals’ escapes me – he continues – because I believe that in a competition (even an electoral one) we all start with the same possibilities and it is the citizen-voters who choose when going to the polls. I’m not interested in knowing the profound reasons behind the choice. Whether they are due to surveys that have recently appeared rather than to precise strategic-political lines of the association”.
“Everyone legitimately invites to their home – concludes Erika Martini – whoever they want and, for whatever reason, prefer. I would add that (unfortunately) she is not the only one. The disappointment is precisely due to noticing the proliferation of similar, worthy (in intentions only) initiatives that I can only classify as real lapses in institutional style”.
