Vittoria prepares for the Jazz Run

Next Sunday, Vittoria will host the seventh edition of the Jazz Run, a stage of the Sicilian road racing Grand Prix, organized by the Asd No to Doping. The race, a 10 km included in the Fidal national calendar, will see the best of the island’s running enthusiasts compete, including Angelo Mandarà (Atl.Padua), winner of the recent Ragusan stage of the Vivicittà. Among Mandarà’s opponents there will be Enzo Taranto, athlete of the organizing club, as well as Salvatore Greco and Gianluca Ciarcià of Atl.Vittoria, together with many other participants from all over the province and beyond.

The race route will pass through the most evocative places of Vittoria, including the majestic Cathedral, the Villa Comunale, Piazza dei Martiri and Piazza del Popolo, which will also be the starting and finishing point of the event. The event, organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Vittoria, will see the participation of the mayor Hon. Francesco Aiello, the new Councilor for Sport Fabio Prelati and the Uisp Territoriale Iblei led by Tonino Siciliano.

The departure is scheduled for 10:00, with the secretariat for collecting the race numbers set up in the suggestive Chiostro delle Grazie. The athletes’ meeting is set for 8:00 am. The awards ceremony will always take place at the Cloister, starting from 12:00, with awards for the first 3 overall and for the various categories. During the event, there will also be the presence of the mascot of the Sicilian running races, Marko’s, to liven up the atmosphere. The awards will be organized by Albani Op, which will provide natural products to the winners who will take the podium.
