tobacconist killed. A new evidentiary incident has been scheduled

Foggia. The new date has been set for the evidentiary hearing against Redouane Mosllia 43-year-old of Moroccan origins accused of the murder of Franca Marasco, the 72-year-old tobacconist killed last August 28, in the city, during a robbery.

After an initial postponement caused by a double notification defect, the investigating judge Bencivenga of the Court of Foggia once again accepted the request of the prosecutor (prosecutor Perrone) setting the ‘face to face’ meeting with the parties in the courtroom for next Thursday, 9 May. This is, as already reiterated by the civil party’s lawyer, Avv. Enrico Rando, of a fundamental passage, “a preview of the trial phase aimed at evaluating and possibly crystallizing as evidentiary elements the statements made so far by the main suspect”. Foggiatoday.it reports it.

In addition to the 43-year-old, accused of murder and aggravated robbery, the military also arrested the 71-year-old Vittorino Checchia, originally from a town in the Dauni Mountains and believed to be his accomplice. According to the reconstruction of the prosecution, in fact, the first, self-confessed, would have hit the woman with four blows to the abdomen during the robbery; the second, however, would have provided him with the weapon and clothes.

Unlike Mossli, Checchia never spoke to the magistrates nor did he intend to provide his own version of events. The matter still shows some obscure points and various ‘knots’ to be resolved which could come to a head during the evidentiary incident.
