Milan, 7 May. He had stabbed a 17-year-old boy during an argument that broke out over a bicycle, then he hid in the house of an acquaintance, where he lived for about a month as a fugitive, but the police identified him and arrested him. It happened in Saronno, in the Varese area, to a 28-year-old of Tunisian origin.
The attack occurred on the evening of March 11 at the Saronno Sud railway station; the victim, a 17-year-old Tunisian irregular on the national territory, had been stabbed inside the wooded area of Cascina Colombara, a place that led investigators to hypothesize possible conflicts in drug dealing environments. The young man had suffered deep lung injuries which had required a particularly complex surgery.
The intense investigative activities carried out by the Carabinieri of the operational nucleus of the Saronno company, coordinated by the Busto Arsizio prosecutor’s office, continued for weeks; the poorly cooperative attitude of the witnesses and the victim herself made the searches particularly difficult, but extensive interception activity and shadowing and observation services nevertheless made it possible to shed full light on the incident.
The young man, who had recently arrived in Italy illegally and was looking for easy money, had immediately entered the world of drug dealing. As his base he had other compatriots who had previously arrived on the national territory; with some of these he was also linked by kinship. Precisely one of these, defined by some witnesses as a particularly aggressive subject, during an argument due to trivial reasons and in particular the incorrect use of a bicycle, had hit the victim with two blows to the chest.
The investigations made it possible to identify the attacker as a 28-year-old Tunisian, already affected by an expulsion order which he had not complied with, who in the period following the wounding had changed his home several times, also relying on drug addicts. In the days before the arrest, the soldiers of the Saronno company located him inside a house in a courtyard in the municipality of Caronno Pertusella. And on the morning of April 28, having been certain of the man’s presence, the raid was launched inside the apartment.
The man, caught hiding in a closet, was arrested and transferred to the Busto Arsizio prison, while the acquaintance who had provided him with hospitality was reported for aiding and abetting illegal immigration.
