Monza Fast Future, a 2-day event dedicated to the transition to a sustainable environment

The second edition of the Monza Fast Future is underway. The Sustainability Festival is organized by the Municipality of Monza through the Pro Monza association with the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. After last year’s success, a busy calendar of initiatives aimed at stimulating change towards a sustainable urban style will open on 11 May and end on 14 November.

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May in Piazza Trento and Trieste. We start with an event that aims to raise awareness among citizens on some of the themes of the 2030 Zero Emissions Agenda. In Piazza Trento and Trieste various entities operating in the fields of environmental protection, training, the entrepreneurial world, mobility and, in general, at multiple levels in society will promote change from a green perspective. For both days there will be stands, associations, schools, companies, citizens active in caring for the environment who will be able to become protagonists and talk about their experiences on the stage animated by Radio Number One. There will also be numerous activities dedicated not only to the little ones but also to children and adults.

Representatives of the Municipal Administration, Pro Monza, Asvis, the Chamber of Commerce of Monza and Milan, Monza Mobilità will be present – in whose stand it will be possible to consult the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS) – together with the micromobility company Dott as partners and the local police. Among the companies involved in the environmental field: Orto il Ciliegio; Free Fruits; Urban park Edible; San Vincenzo Garden; Enpa; Gattolandia; Leiden; Bella Jajo; Apincittà APS and Aiuola Trenti. Among the personalities attending the event will be the writer and commentator Simone Di Matteo face of the “Respect for all animals“ and the agronomist doctor Andrea Candeo whose intervention will focus on ecosystem services.

Furthermore, testimonies via video link from Copenhagen and Paris are expected, where some young people will discuss live about good environmental protection practices.

Among the associations are Plastic Free, Fiab, the Bike Federation in the City, LAV Monza and Brianza and Legambiente, at whose stand it will be possible to vote on the logo proposals for Monza’s “climate strategy” project. The Youth Table will also be present with the provincial student council. He will also take the stage Matteo Gaddareturning from Australia for a bike trip where he raised funds for charity.

The next events on the calendar of the new edition of Monza Fast Future

Sunday 16 June an initiative on soft mobility is planned, which takes inspiration from the centenary of the depot in via Borgazzi of the historic Monza-Milan line. At the end of September A third important event is planned to coincide with the European Mobility Week. In the end, on November 13th and 14ththe national conference will be held again in Villa Reale which will compare business realities, institutions and stakeholders who have long been engaged in that cultural change which must necessarily aim for an eco future, moving ever more actions in harmony with the ethics of Sustainability.

To intersperse the various events, collateral initiatives are planned with the aim of highlighting the green excellence of the area, with a series of thematic “tables” capable of describing the current state of affairs and the prospects for progressively achieving essential objectives.
