Good morning everyone and welcome to the LIVE LIVE of the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, from Aqui Terme to Andora for 190 kilometers to travel. Another opportunity for the sprinters after yesterday’s arrival in Fossano, with the victory of xx; However, arrival in compact ranks is not a given.
The first part of the day is constantly uphill, up to the finishing line of Calizzano at kilometer 79.2; from there the Colle del Melogno, a third category of 7.5 kilometers with an average gradient of 4.8% but which also reaches 9% in its central phase; from there the easy part of the fourth fraction theoretically begins, which however hides some pitfalls.
First of all, immediately after the first part of the descent, when you then find yourself climbing up the counterslope of the Colla del Bresca (1400 meters at 8.3%) which could cut off the legs of sprinters less accustomed to climbing. The descent then ends in Savona, where you travel along the Milan-Sanremo roads. There the sprinter teams will have to be attentive to the Capo Mele, 1800 meters at 4.4%, which rises two and a half kilometers from the finish line.
