SAN SEVERO (Foggia) – The appointment with the Festival of Landscape Culturesat the 3rd edition, organized and promoted byMunicipal administration of San Severounder the auspices of Puglia region, that will involve San Severo and the cities of the Alto Tavoliere delle Puglie, San Paolo di Civitate and Serracapriola, along the Tratturo Magno L’Aquila-Foggia. From Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th Mayfour days in the name of transhumance as search for human and sacred signs, memories, gestures and stepswhich will culminate, Thursday 9 May from 6pm in the Celestine Gallery of San Severo, in the great celebration of the “Transhumant night, between human nature and landscape”, a happening of great music and poetry that will evoke the relocation of the transhumant people. A legendary journey emigrant along the Apennine ridge between serenades and ballads, lullabies and love tarantellas, frenetic rhythms and jumps always careful to involve the audience and make them “walk” to the music. The rhythms, sounds, songs and dances of tradition with the voice and accordion of Ambrogio Sparagna and the music of the multi-instrumentalist Erasmo Treglia (torototela, hurdy-gurdy, ciaramella), with extraordinary participation of one of the most important harpists in the world Vincenzo Zitello protagonist of the project “Europe is a sound” together with Alessia Salvuccimultifaceted artist musician singer dancer, and the poet’s verses Davide Rondoni, artistic director of the Festival. A rhythmic dialogue between harps and drums, bearers of myths, narratives, invocations, fairy tales.

The recognition was also awarded to Metamorph Group composed of Gabriele De Giorgi, Alessandra Muntoni and Marcello Pazzaglini: a team of architects and university professors, engaged for over 50 years in the development of projects, theoretical reflections, investigations on the landscape, on the geographical city, on the relationship between metamorphism and biocompatibility, on new technologies applied to the valorisation of metropolitan and rural territories. There awards ceremony Friday 10 May at 7.30pm, Galleria dei Celestini Corte Teatrowith the participation of Fabio Mucilli for the Municipality of San Severo and the poet Enrico Fraccacreta. In the evening, the show event “Musicians and traditions” with the critic Paolo Lagazzi, FrakDJ and composer, and musician Salvatore De Iure.
At the Festival, Friday 10 May at 6pm in the Galleria dei Celestini of San Severo, theauthor meeting “Poets snatch the last word from war”with the critic Paolo Lagazzi and the poets Enrico Fraccacreta, Alessia Iuliano and Antonio Bux among the finalists of the 2024 Strega Poetry Award with his latest book “Mappe senza una terra” (RP libri).
The Landscape Cultures Festivalis reconfirmed as an annual reference event for the Puglia region and the Tavoliere territory. An exhibition that becomes an active platform to share, reflect and plan together the future of the landscape and the territory in an increasingly sustainable way. It was born from these premises the memorandum of understanding which will be signed during the inauguration of the exhibition, Thursday 9 May at 6.30 pm Galleria dei Celestini, which establishes the institutional collaboration between the municipalities of San Severo (leader), San Paolo di Civitate and Serracapriola for the organization of the next editions of the Festival. The program is rich meetings, workshops, seminars on the relationship between landscape and renewable energy, on the valorisation of “ecological corridors”, sheep tracks and streams.In the afternoons of Thursday 9th and Friday 10th Mayfrom 3pm to 6pm Galleria dei Celestini Neighborhood workshop, appointment with design workshop “Mosaic of San Severo: from the sheep track/path to the sheep track/territory”. Friday 10 Mayfrom 9am in the conference room of the Galleria dei Celestini, the presentation of the feasibility study “The landscapes of the Tratturo Magno: from the sheep track/path to the sheep track/territory”coordinates Fabio Mucilli of the Municipality of San Severo; they intervene Maurizio Gioiosa, naturalist, curator of the project’s ecological network; Massimo Desiati, territorial marketing expert, Roberto Pagliaradeveloper of the audio guide contents of the Walk&Learn app for the discovery of “The landscapes of the Tratturo Magno” and Dante De Lallo representing the GAL Daunia Rural 2020, with the participation of associations and designers. The meeting follows “The Mosaic of San Severo 2015-2024. Towards the map of the sheep track-territory” which traces the history and fundamental stages that have allowed the systematization and redesign of the territory in a sustainable way also through the rethinking and valorisation of the distribution of crops within the ‘design’ of the Mosaic, aiming at the development of the Multifunctional Agricultural Park of the Mosaic. The Festival dedicates the weekend to the discovery and exploration of the territory. Saturday 11 May, from 9am to 1pm, the excursion “Mosaic of San Severo – ecological corridors in the Radicosa and Venolo streams”: the guided tour of the new Boschetto sul Radicosa and the source of the Venolo on the L’Aquila – Foggia sheep track, together with designers, students, associations and trekking enthusiasts. In the afternoon, from 6pm, “Come on, it’s time to migrate”, appointment in Serracapriola, in the Doganella area of Passo San Giacomo, for one walk on the sheep track in the company of the music and dances of Agnone Folklore Group and the writer’s stories Nicola Mastronardi. A visit to the is planned Chapel of Santa Maria del Monteand to Church of Sant’Anna. All participants will be able to learn about, taste and enjoy the typical products of the area along the stands located on the Belvedere of the Giro Esterno. Sunday 12 May, 8 am, from the Municipality of San Paolo di Civitate, in Spiavento – San Severo, theWalk on the Tratturo Regio L’Aquila-Foggia” which involves a route of approximately 10 km, from the Roman pavement to Madonna del Ponte, with stops animated by artists and musicians (I Dromedari, Cantori di Civitate, Brass Band) e tasting of pastoral specialties and guided visits to the Tavern and the sheep track monuments along the way.
