today the procession to say “enough” to wars

PAVIA – Today, Saturday 11 May, the city of Pavia will unite in a message of peace and brotherhood. Promoted by the Service for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Diocese of Pavia, led by Don Michele Mosa, the Peace Procession will start from Piazza Duomo at 4.00 pm and then head towards the Prefecture and end in Piazza del Comunewhere a final message will be read.

The initiative, born as a moment of reflection and prayer between people, Churches, civil and religious communities, associations, takes on an even deeper meaning in the current international context, marked by conflicts in different areas of the world, from Ukraine to the Middle East .

A silent procession, but full of meaning. The choice not to allow party flags or symbols underlines the universal nature of the message of peace that we want to send. A message of hope and unity that transcends political and religious boundaries, uniting everyone under a single sky of peace.

There are several entities that have joined the initiative, including Catholic Action, the Waldensian Evangelical Church of Pavia, the Primo Amore Church, the Islamic Cultural Center, the Diocese of Pavia, the Ecumenical Patriarchate-Orthodox Archdiocese of Italy and the Exarchate for Southern Europe, Pastoral Migrants. Among the associations that will take part in the procession we find Almo Collegio Borromeo, Anffas, Associazione Antigone, Ass. Socio-culturale Lebanese, Caritas, Casa San Giuseppe di Belgioioso, Comunità Laudato Sì, Ci Even Noi Odv, Comunità di S. Egidio, Fridays for Future, Focolare Movement, Presidio Libera di Pavia, SEquS, Sportello Donna, Uildm and Ultima Generazione.
