In Perugia, Cycling meets Solidarity: Ride with the Champions and Support for Education

The “Un Giro nel Giro” initiative and the “I want to go to school” project combine sport and social commitment with the presence of cycling legends.

Banca Mediolanum celebrates its twenty-second year as the official sponsor of the Maglia Azzurra of the Giro d’Italia Mountain Grand Prix with an initiative that combines sport and social commitment. On May 10, in Perugia, the “Un Giro nel Giro” event will offer cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to ride together with cycling icons such as Paolo Bettini, Maurizio Fondriest, Francesco Moser and Dalia Muccioli. This amateur ride, organized by Banca Mediolanum, will allow participants to experience the route of the Giro d’Italia, a few hours before the professionals, starting at 10.30 from the Family Banker Office (FBO) in via Mario Angeloni, with a route of 33 km which will end in Corso Vannucci.

The event was organized by Claudio Gilioli, Regional Manager of Tuscany and Umbria of Banca Mediolanum, and represents a unique moment of aggregation for two-wheel lovers who will have the opportunity to experience the “hardest race in the world in the most beautiful country of the world” together with true cycling champions.

In parallel with the sporting event, Banca Mediolanum renews its social commitment through support for the “I want to go to school” project. In collaboration with the Mediolanum Foundation, the project aims to prevent and combat school dropout among minors at risk. During 2024, in partnership with Fondazione L’Albero della Vita ETS, Il Manto – Società Cooperativa Sociale and Centro Italiano Aiuti all’Infanzia ETS, the project will guarantee the right to education to 680 minors, offering them opportunities to develop skills and talents . Furthermore, the Mediolanum Foundation has promised to double the first 60,000 euros raised for this cause.

These events underline Banca Mediolanum’s commitment not only to promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle among its customers and citizens, but also to supporting vital projects that contribute to the social and educational well-being of young people in Italy, demonstrating how integration between sport and social responsibility can generate a significant positive impact in the community.
