Not even twenty-four hours after the announcement of his farewell to Civitanova, the official confirmation arrived that Simone Anzani will be yellow and blue next year. It is a return, that of the central defender who won everything with De Giorgi’s national team, which will be useful above all in two aspects. The first is purely technical: Anzani is a complete centre-back, capable of blocking as in the first half, equipped with an effective jump-float serve, and can complete a department which, with Brehme and Sanguinetti, this year, was very unbalanced on the phase in attack and certainly more deficient in blocking, a fundamental that the coach is particularly interested in. The second useful aspect is that linked to nationality: with Anzani in the squad, the central department of the Valsa Group will return to being entirely made up of Italians, removing any problems for Giuliani regarding the management of the gangs or opposites. The three Italians on the pitch foreseen by the regulation will in fact be the two central players (chosen between Anzani, Stankovic, Sanguinetti and Mati) and the libero Filippo Federici.
