Gallarate station “with high historical value”. Wins the European Euroferr award

GALLARATE – The Gallarate station was awarded the prestigious Euroferr European railway award (of the Association Europeenne Des Cheminots- AEC). The handover ceremony will take place at 9am on May 21st in the Municipal Hall of the former Martignoni Stables.

The delivery of the diploma

The diploma will be presented to the mayor Andrea Cassani, to the RFI manager for the Gallaratese station and to the national president of the Dopolavoro Ferroviario Tuscan pine. The Gallarate station was judged to be a station of high historical, tourist, environmental and archaeological value.

The prize

The aim of the “Euroferr” European Railway Award is to reward the mayors of European stations that are already well valued or that deserve to be valued and known above all by tourists for their extraordinary territory, of historical, environmental and tourist-archaeological importance. The “Euroferr” Award therefore turns out to be a recognition of the quality of the territory focused on soft mobility, intermodality between services, culture, landscape and networking of neighboring territories. It is essentially a question of promoting European stations (small and little known) and their territory.
