“Tour of Puglia”. The story of the cycling trip – Stage 4

“Giro di Puglia” with Loris Mancin, 55 years old, and Giuseppe Lazari from Galatina, 59 years old, who started the bike tour from Foggia to discover this beautiful region.

The fourth stage has ended which from Santa Maria di Leuca (Le) accompanied Loris and Giuseppe to Galatina (Le).

“The fourth stage of the cycling tour of Puglia of around 100 km saw us leave early from Santa Maria di Leuca – say Loris and Giuseppe -. We immediately crossed the Ciolo on the newly renovated bridge, then a brief stop at the “Green Cave” of Andrano and a passage through Santa Cesarea Terme with its oriental-style architecture. A spectacular route, in continuous ups and downs on the Adriatic coast. Just before Otranto we carried out an inspection at the bauxite quarry lake with a truly surreal landscape. Otranto impressed us – add the two cyclists -, in particular the Cathedral with its mosaic floor. Then, shortly thereafter, the spectacle of the Sant’Andrea stacks opened before our eyes. Once in Galatina, the evening ended with the Holy Mass celebrated by Don Lucio in the Church of SS. Peter and Paul Apostles, in the heart of the city. It was a moment of prayer to share with all those present and of thanks to the parish priest Don Lucio, to the representatives of the CSI Committee of Terra d’Otranto, to the Club Correre and Showy Boys sports associations. In Galatina we will have a day of rest and we will take the opportunity to admire the many beauties that the city offers before leaving again with the Giro di Puglia for the new destination Fasano”.

Galatina24.it, the newspaper of Galatina and Salento, virtually accompanies the two protagonists in this beautiful sporting adventure and tells you in brief about the stages of their journey.
