The third stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024 it was dominated by Tadej Pogacar and Geraint Thomas until 500 meters from the finish line in Fossano, with a sudden action that provided emotions and twists.
Thomas and Pogacar played the victory at a crucial moment of the stage, with an unexpected attack from Honorè followed by a quick reaction from the two great rivals.
Thomas commented on the final action explaining that the attack was not planned and that he followed Pogacar to avoid problems, without wanting to actively collaborate with him. The excellent start highlighted his good physical condition in the first three stages, with the cyclist appearing satisfied with the results obtained.
Pogacar put on a show today toohonoring the pink jersey and attacking together with Thomas in the last kilometres, demonstrating determination and sprinting ability. He recounted his experience at the end of the stage, explaining that he didn’t believe he could win but still gave his all, taking advantage of the attack and game situations towards the end of the race.
