The Civil Week, a week of volunteering, civility and active citizenship, is also starting in Cinisello Balsamo. From 9 to 16 May, the initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Milan, Third Sector Forum, Corriere della Sera ‘Buone Notizie’, in collaboration with the Volunteer Services Centre, with the support of Community Foundations and the patronage of the Lombardy Region , Metropolitan City and around fifteen municipalities including Cinisello Balsamo.
Civil Week – we read in a note from the municipality – aims to talk about the civic sense of citizens, associations, organizations, companies and all those who participate in the construction of the Common Good as well as promoting activities and initiatives that the multiple organizations of citizen volunteers carry out day after day with the aim of committing themselves to building a more cohesive, inclusive, welcoming and attentive community to the needs of the most vulnerable through initiatives spread across the territory.
The underlying theme of this 2024 edition is “The Constitution is us” with a particular focus on art.118 which directly affects active citizenship, volunteers, Third Sector bodies together with all those who act individually or in groups to the well-being of communities.
In fact, each initiative will be preceded by the reading of the article of the Constitution that inspired it. A way for the various participating organizations to show who they are and what they do, encouraging meetings with citizens interested or curious about mutual knowledge.
