Seizures of valuables and complaints in the province of Arezzo. The advice of the state police who never lower their guard against the phenomenon

AREZZO — Over the last 15 days, the State Police of Arezzo has recovered numerous gold jewelery and cash, the result of 2 different scams carried out in Aosta and Padua to the detriment, respectively, of an 85 year old lady and a married couple of 87 and 80 years old.

In both cases, the criminals were intercepted along the Highway of the Sun by the experts Battifoll traffic policemenand, always in the front row also in the war against these hateful crimes, which reported two men on the loose and recovered and returned the stolen goods to the elderly, of estimated value of over 30,000.

This time too, like the other times, the unscrupulous criminals who dedicate themselves to this ignoble crime used the usual, proven stratagem: a phone call with the threat that the children of the elderly would end up in prison if a certain sum of money was not paid to a person who would show up shortly to collect it.

And the damage, the real one, is not only linked to the amount paid but also lurks in the minds of our parents and grandparents, who are not only robbed of the memories of a lifetime but end up losing self-esteem and feeling now unfit to face life.

For this reason, all the unfortunate people and their families, having received the news of the recovery of their belongings, did not hesitate to thank the police, who, not yet satisfied with their work, continued their investigations to identify the other members of these hateful criminal gangs.

The State Policewith his “always being there”, reiterates that no one is ever left alone and that the institutions are always ready to help those, especially the most fragile, who also need simple advice on how to behave when faced with unknown subjects who do strange requests, in person or by telephone.

This is done simply by calling the emergency number 112, or, for the more “social”, through the website www.poliziadistato.it, where a real handbook is published with useful suggestions for defending oneself from these vile scammers.
