In recent days, the Siderno road agents, during a normal service, intervened, providing first aid to a person who fell ill while walking along a street in the center of Siderno.
The patrol, passing along the seafront, noticed her collapsing on the ground, on a pavement, and ran to help the man, a 47-year-old, who was unconscious. When 118 was alerted while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the victim began to have convulsions so one of the officers performed a maneuver to prevent his tongue from reclining and therefore suffocate him.
Despite the difficulties due to the uncoordinated and involuntary movements of the unfortunate man, the policeman managed to contain the movements inside the mouth and, keeping the man lying on one side, waited for the arrival of the doctors. During the short time waited for the arrival of 118, a time which evidently seemed very long to the officers, the man was constantly positioned in conditions such as not to suffer further physical damage and the officers were always in close contact with the operators of the health service who, upon arriving on site, transported the 47-year-old to the Locri hospital, no longer in danger of his life.
The same personnel of the Siderno Traffic Police found his documents on the man, thanks to which they were able to trace and contact his family, reassuring them about the conditions of the relative who had already been entrusted to the care of doctors.
