Split in the night in a telephone shop in the historic center of Empoli (Florence). Before 1am unknown persons broke the window and took away several smartphones on display.
“We would never have imagined that all this could happen at that time, at a time when people continued to pass in that street,” said the shop owner. The police intervened on the spot. At the moment the total value of the stolen goods has not been quantified. The inventory is underway.
New breakthrough also in Florence. A beauty center in Piazza Dalmazia was hit during the night between last Friday and Saturday. Unknown persons, probably using a manhole which however was not found, broke a glass door and then once inside they took away the cash register. The owner of the center has not yet quantified the amount of money stolen. The police intervened on the spot. From what we have learned, there are no cameras that could have filmed the action. Two other incidents occurred the other night in a bar in via Panciatichi where the police intervened at first at 4.30 and then in a shop in via Morandi, where the officers arrived at around 5.45. The modus operandi is similar: shop windows in pieces and, in both cases, a manhole probably used as a ‘ram’ and found by police officers right inside the businesses. For the bar, the employees themselves called the emergency number: already at the early hours of dawn they would have been in the internal rooms of the business to carry out their morning tasks. The discovery of their presence would have put the bad guys to flight who in this case, according to what was learned at the time, would not have managed to take anything away. However, a handful of coins would have disappeared from the shop. Any other shortfalls, however, remain to be quantified.
