Today, at the end of the project supported by Conad Adriatico, a discussion took place in Teramo between Pietro Grasso, former anti-mafia prosecutor and the students

The former national anti-mafia prosecutor Pietro, now president of the Scintille di Futuro Foundation, answered the young people’s questions on legality and the Constitution. In addition to Grasso, the children were also welcomed by the director of the Conad ETS Foundation, Maria Cristina Alfieri, the CEO of Conad Adriatico, Antonio Di Ferdinando, the Rector of the University of Teramo, Dino Mastrocola and the coordinator of the School of Legality and Justice of the University of Teramo, Fiammetta Ricci.

The initiative ‘Pages of legality, examples of citizenship‘ was born as a spin off of Conad ETS Foundation School Project created with Unisona, which saw the participation of over 100 thousand high school students in the two events on legality held in live streaming by Pietro Grasso.

Scintille di Futuro Foundation, chaired by Pietro Grasso, has developed an in-depth program – which started on January 31st – divided into training webinars dedicated to high school teachers throughout Italy. The objective is to provide teachers with the tools necessary to undertake a process of education on legality in the classroom.

Today, at the end of the project, in Teramo the discussion between Pietro Grasso and the students.

“This meeting in our Aula Magna – underlined the Rector of the University of Teramo, Dino Mastrocola – is part of the activities of the School of Legality and Justice of the University of Teramo, established – first in Italy – in 2018, in collaboration with the Falcone e Borsellino Association, to encourage cultural promotion, reflection and debate on the issues of legality and the fight against mafias. The School – which brings together paths and languages ​​of education on legality – has the objective of developing proposals and building educational projects and paths on the subject of legality, to spread among students a culture of social and civil commitment such as to provide adequate knowledge and give meaning to a work to combat the mafia”.

The president of the Scintille di futuro foundation Pietro Grasso declared:

“When I decided to give life to the Scintille di Futuro Foundation, my first thought went to the schools, to the thousands of students I met over the years, to the hundreds of school managers and teachers with whom I interacted, always finding passionate interlocutors and gathering advice, requests, suggestions. Precisely on the basis of this experience, I am very happy to bring Scintille for schools, in many classes, because even from this small seed a new spring of legality can start.”

The project program will close on May 8th in Milan.

Pietro Grasso entered the judiciary in 1969; he was judge in the Cosa Nostra maxi-trial and chief prosecutor of Palermo; from October 2005 to January 2013 he was the national anti-mafia prosecutor.
