The Leo Club Catania Val Dirillo (Lions International youth association), SIULP of Catania (Italian Unitary Police Workers Union) and the association “Il Cuore di Raffaele” join forces in a sports project of great social value.
The Padel tournament at the Campi 21 Padel Arena will not only promote sports practice, but will have as its main objective the raising awareness of cardiac prevention. The initiative involves not only the promotion of a healthy lifestyle through sport, but also the purchase of a defibrillator which will be donated to the citizens of Catania. This life-saving tool will be installed in Piazza Giovanni Verga (CT), making the beating heart of the city a safer place for everyone. The President of the Leo Club Catania Val Dirillo, Gabriele Spampinato, comments enthusiastically: “We are proud to be among the organizers of such an important initiative for our community. Cardiac prevention is a fundamental topic and through our commitment we want to contribute to making Catania a safer and more health-conscious place for all its citizens, so that unpleasant events can occur less and less. For this reason we intend to propose sporting events like this in the years to come in order to guarantee the continuity of the club’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community. We also thank SIULP and Il Cuore di Raffaele for the support they will provide through free cardiopulmonary resuscitation courses and the use of a defibrillator.”
